About our work
Infinis works with advocacy because it believes that ensuring a healthy childhood and adolescence in Brazil necessarily requires the strengthening of public policies. In a country that has a unified health system and a broad public education network, but still faces deep inequalities and high levels of violence, it is essential to influence the decisions that shape the State’s actions.
In this context, engaging with public managers, contributing to the qualification of evidence-based policies, and strengthening the social protection network are essential pathways to expand access to rights and care.
As a philanthropic organization, Infinis’ role is to create conditions for civil society organizations, communities, and governments to act together toward lasting social transformations.
We also work to strengthen the legal, regulatory, and fiscal environment for civil society organizations (CSOs). We believe that a strong, autonomous civil society, aware of its rights and duties, is essential for democracy and for promoting collective change.
Strategic Objectives
Through our advocacy actions, we seek to:
- Promote the use of evidence in the formulation and effective implementation of public policies in the priority areas of the José Luiz Setúbal Foundation (FJLS), supporting the projects and programs area of Infinis and other institutions in the group;
- Qualify public debate and contribute to public agenda-setting in the priority areas of FJLS in partnership with the group’s communication areas.
3 Lines of Action

Our approach to advocacy
We believe in the production and dissemination of qualified knowledge to support the formulation and implementation of evidence-based public policies, and for this we collaborate with Instituto Pensi and partners. We understand that addressing the challenges of childhood and adolescence in Brazil requires consistent information, advocacy capacity, and coordinated action.
We strengthen this work through articulation with civil society organizations, building strategic agendas collaboratively. Working in coalitions and networks is central to Infinis: it expands our capacity for influence and contributes to more consistent advances in guaranteeing the rights of children and adolescents, while also strengthening the sector.
Working in networks allows us to go beyond what would be possible in isolation, expanding the legitimacy of the causes we defend and driving collective solutions. By sharing knowledge, resources, and capacities, we also promote the institutional strengthening of partner organizations.
At the same time, we engage in advocacy for the strengthening of civil society, contributing to a more favorable legal, regulatory, and fiscal environment for CSOs. We believe this effort is essential for democracy and for the realization of rights, especially for children, adolescents, and their families.
Our philanthropy is also guided by high standards of integrity. To this end, we have a Compliance Program at the José Luiz Setúbal Foundation, which ensures the responsible and transparent conduct of our activities and reinforces our commitment to ethical, responsible, and sustainable philanthropy.
